“Thanks to the IRACM master program, I met people from all around the world, which helped me open up and understand new cultures better. This broadened perspective also strengthened my critical thinking skills, as building up my knowledge and discovering new viewpoints pushed me to refine my own reasoning. Alongside the social aspect, the master has academical benefits such as the English classes that made me practice regularly which in the end improved my level. The courses content this year was rarely new compared to what I had covered during my chemistry bachelor’s degree in Lille, but it gave me the opportunity to revise fundamental concepts, thus consolidating my knowledge, making me a better chemist in the career I intend to pursue. The diversity of the subjects covered and their deeper understanding also gave me time and insight to identify what I specifically like within the vast field of chemistry, narrowing down the choices I already made at the end of my bachelor’s, thus sharpening the direction I had begun to define. When I first started this program, I was aware that this plurality could work against me in the job market as covering more ground imply less specialization. This thought pushed me to study even harder to make sure it would later work in my favor. Finally, IRACM also connected me to professionals around the world thanks to the reactivity of the teachers and their genuine investment in their students’ success.”
